Why we recommend the pictured DITEK protector
The pictured DTK 120/240CM+ is designed for 120/240 volt split phase applications such as HVAC condensers, pumps and motors. DITEK specifies a UL 1449 Type 1 listing, a weather resistant NEMA 4X enclosure, and a diagnostic LED indicating power, ground presence and protective status.
Those are practical reasons to consider it at outdoor equipment. We confirm the electrical ratings and installation requirements for your system. It supplements whole home surge protection; it does not correct sustained low voltage, replace maintenance, or make equipment lightning proof.
